Brandon Phillips
HR & Compliance Manager, Riverview Tug Service

Brandon Phillips serves as Secretary of the Upper Mississippi Waterways Association and is the HR & Compliance Manager for Riverview Tug Service. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the inland river industry, having worked his way from deckhand to captain on the Mississippi River. Throughout his career, Brandon has served aboard a wide variety of towing vessels and has firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities facing the inland waterways system.

A strong advocate for navigation, infrastructure investment, workforce development, and stakeholder engagement, Brandon works with industry leaders, government agencies, and community partners to promote the long-term success of the Upper Mississippi River. In addition to his role with UMWA, he serves on the boards of We Work the Waterways, helping connect the next generation of maritime professionals with careers on America’s waterways.
