Its mission is to create and execute innovative solutions to the world’s most complex maritime, environmental and infrastructure challenges.

Through its support of UMWA, J.F. Brennan is sponsoring the Columbia-Snake River tour June 22-28.

“J.F. Brennan Company is honored to support the Upper Mississippi Waterway Association’s Inland River Exchange event highlighting the Columbia and Snake Rivers,” J.F. Brennan Company Vice President Mark Binsfeld said. “As a leader in marine construction, environmental dredging and barge transportation, we are a resource to all the inland waterways located across the United States. We look forward to working with stakeholders and supporters of the M84 corridor to bring more focus to the importance of America’s inland river system.”

The tour will focus on the impact the two rivers have and promote the Upper Mississippi while there. Participants arrive in Portland, Ore., June 22 to start off with a dinner cruise on the Portland Spirit.

Starting as a construction company along the banks of the Upper Mississippi River, J.F. Brennan has evolved into a diversified service provider. The company focuses on safety, culture and total quality management in the business.

With most of the work taking place around the water, there is a need for safety programs and the right equipment to mitigate risks. J.F. Brennan has a world-class safety program designed to address risks found in the inland marine and heavy construction industries.  The Safety Based Observation Program (SBO) collects hundreds of observations from all the project sites and statistically analyzes potential risks before an incident occurs.

This program is a driving factor for the exceptional Experience Modification Rating (EMR), low Incident Rates and other safety measurements that are industry leading in all the respective markets.

Environmental safety is another area focused on in order to preserve the surrounding environmental conditions at each of the projects.

The culture at J.F. Brennan focuses on making it the best place for employees to work. It considers the employees the key to success and the company works hard to build a culture in which every individual is important.

Some of the core values coined the “Brennan Way” are:

  • Safety

Another area of organizational focus is the Total Quality Management (TQM) program and the Brennan Management System (BMS). Both programs work to drive organizational excellence, reduce risk, protect people and the environment and deliver consistent, measurable results to their clients.
