The Upper Mississippi Waterway Association (UMWA) is excited to host a joint venture along the Mississippi River led by Michelle Hennings, executive director of Washington Association of Wheat Growers (WAWG). Discussions will surround the Snake and Columbia rivers with insight about how the Mississippi serves as a joint effort with users and stakeholders of both inland waterways.

The group will attend lunch and the UMWA membership meeting June 24 at The Hatchery at 410 E Veterans Memorial Dr., La Crosse, Wisconsin. That will follow with a river barge tour to Lock 7 to observe dredging operations and learn about the challenges facing the area. All UMWA members are invited to attend the membership meeting and river tour at no cost, thanks to a sponsorship by the J.F. Brennan Company, but must pre-register at the form on this page.

Following the barge tour, the Washington group will return to Minneapolis, flying out June 25 to tour the lower Mississippi River and the Gulf Ports through June 28.
